 Mohali:India won the toss and elected to bat first.  As per expectation Sehwag and Sachin had a flying start. Sehwag started the first over with a boundary. W Riaz is the star bowler for Pakistan as he removed   Sehwag with an LBW.

Gambhir joined Sachin in the crease started off well. Gambhir was dismissed by Hafeez for 27 from 32 balls.

Sachin who got several lifes because of worst fielding of Paksitan completed his half century headed towards century. At last S Ajmal succeeded in removing master blaster at 85 from 115 balls with 11 fours.

Dhoni and Raina played together for some time but Riaz striking again dismissed Dhoni at 25. Raina was in the crease till the end with his unbeaten 36 from 39 balls. Harbhajan and Zaheer added few runs to the board. India scored 260 losing 9 wickets in 50 overs.

Pakistan in reply, got a tremendous start as K Akmal and M Hafeez dominated the Indian star bowler Zaheer Khan.

Hafeez 43 from 59balls neared the half century. Pakistan lost three important wickets for 103 in 24 overs. After the loss of Shafiq, Pakistan never recovered and lost wickets in regular intervals.

Afridi joining Misbah started to knock around the ground but later removed by Harbhajan for just 19 runs.

Misbah played an extremely different test innings in this crucial ODI. Riaz & Gul were removed by Nehra in the end. At last Misbah started to explode and scored three boundaries in the Zaheer khan bowling. In the last over 30 runs required for Pakistan with Misbah in the middle lost the match. Experience Zaheer restricted Misbah in the first three balls and then dismissed Misbah to clinch the great victory.

 Sachin was named as Man of the Match for his 85. India will play the final with Sri Lanka in Mumbai on 2nd April 2011.

India vs Australia: Venue- Motera, Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: The second quarterfinal of the World Cup between co-hosts India and defending champions Australia began at the fully packed Sardar Patel stadium, Motera, on Thursday amidst tight security. India defeated the champion Australia by 5 wickets in 47.5 overs. Man of the match was Yuvraj Singh for the 4th time in this tournament. he made unbeaten 57(65 balls) & taken two wickets. Sachin Tendulkar(53) & Gautam Gambhir(50) built the foundation for victory. Suresh Raina made a contribution of 34 runs & accelerated the momentum with beautiful & sensible batting. Australia won the toss & elected to bat & scored 260 runs for 6 wickets  in 50 overs riding on a superb century from the captain Ricky ponting.
India will now play the semifinal with arch rival Pakistan in Mohali on 30-3-2011.

Date-20—03-2011                     Match-India Vs. West Indies                  Venue- Chennai, MA Chidambaram Stadium

In 2011 World Cup match, India beat West Indies by 80 runs. Yuvraj Singh made his first world cup century(113) & took two wickets & declared man of the match. India made 268 in 49.1 overs. West Indies were all out for 188 runs in 43 overs.
In quarter final on 24-3-2011, India will play Australia. 

Date-12—03-2011                     Match-India Vs. South Africa                  Venue- Nagpur, Jamtha Stadium
In 2011 World Cup match, South Africa beat India by three wickets in a thrilling last-over finish at the Jamtha Stadium. Robin Peterson was SA's hero, scored the 13 needed in the last over off Ashish  Nehra taking a four and a six off the first two balls.
Sachin (110) , Virender Sehwag(73) and Gaotam Gambhir  (69) took India to 267-1 before an astonishing collapse led by Dale Styne's 5-50 saw India fold for 296 when they looked good for 350-plus for much of the innings. In the game against England, India played 146 dot balls. Against S.A, they played 141. India had lost nine wickets in a span of 29 runs.

India wins their 4th leage match against Dutch by 5 wickets. Chasing a target of 190 to win, India lost 5 wickets & reached the score of 191 in 36.3 overs.
Again, Yuvraj Singh has become the man of the match with 51 not out& taking 2 wickets for 43 runs. Sachin Tendulkar became the first player to cross 2000 runs in his 6th world cup. India topping the group B table with 7 points from 4 matches with NRR of +0.992

Date-27—02-2011                     Match-India Vs. England                   Venue- Bangalore Chinnaswami stadium

 High Scoring match between India & England ended in a tie. India Scored 338 runs in 49.5 overs, riding on Tendulkar’s 120 runs in 115 balls. In reply, England also equalled the score of 338 in the last ball, riding on158 runs by Andrew Strauss for 145 balls. Both the team has shared one point each. India heading the group B table with a NRR of +0.870 followed by England with NRR of +0.126.
